Here in Breckenridge, the first weekend in December brings a transformation, turning downtown into a glistening holiday panorama. Along with a bustling shopping scene and ever-popular outdoor winter activities, a pair of special Breckenridge holiday events will highlight the season.

Running isn’t necessary; walking or prancing through the 6-block course is more than welcome. Children can join, with complimentary reindeer antlers. The top three male and female finishers of this fun run will be awarded Ullr Helmets, while everyone will be eligible for prize drawings. All proceeds benefit the local charity, Adopt An Angel, so come out and show your support!

That night, the Lighting of Breckenridge begins. Here, Santa greets holiday celebrators from his horse-drawn carriage while a parade of revelers will sing songs and ring in the holiday season with lights throughout Main Street. Local businesses will participate for the Breckenridge Arts Experience. This celebration kicks off a local holiday season leading to an extravagant New Year’s Eve celebrations, including live music, bar parties, all followed by a torchlight parade down the slopes of Breckenridge Ski Resort.
