Sat. April 12thBig Bad Voodoo Daddy–Known for such hits as “”Go Daddy-O”, “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)”, and “Mr. Pinstripe Suit”, and their appearance at the Super Bowl XXXIII halftime show in 1999, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy remind the world that it’s still cool to swing, big band style. Their high-energy nine-piece ensemble continues the party and urges their millions of fans worldwide to shake and move to their inimitable grooves while also expanding their horizons with new musical inspiration and influence.

Sun. April 13thThe Gin Blossoms– The Grammy-nominated group, with their blend of Pop & Rock, became a musical force that helped define the sound of 90’s radio. With massive hits like “Follow You Down”, “Til I Hear It From You” and “Hey Jealousy,” they took the airwaves by siege and held MTV hostage with multi cross-over hits in 4 different radio formats. After a series of charting singles, the band broke up in 1997. They reunited in 2002 and released a fourth album, Major Lodge Victory, in 2006, and a fifth, No Chocolate Cake, in 2010

Winter Olympics – Sochi, Russia

The 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be the first time that the Russian Federation will have hosted the Winter Games; the Soviet Union hosted the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow. The host city Sochi has a population of 400,000 people and is situated in Krasnodar, which is the third largest region in Russia.

The Games will be organised in two clusters: a coastal cluster for ice events in Sochi, and a mountain cluster located in the Krasnaya Polyana Mountains. This will make it one of the most compact Games ever, with around 30 minutes travel time from the coastal to mountain cluster.

The Sochi Olympic Park will be built along the Black Sea coast in the Imeretinskaya Valley, where all the ice venues such as the Bolshoi Ice Palace, the Maly Ice Palace, the Olympic Oval, the Sochi Olympic Skating Centre, the Olympic Curling Centre, the Central Stadium, the Main Olympic Village and the International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre, will be built anew for the 2014 Games. The Park will ensure a very compact concept with an average distance of 6km between the Olympic Village and the other coastal venues.

The mountain cluster in Krasnaya Polyana will be home to all the skiing and sliding sports. The mountain concept is again a very compact one with only an average distance of 4km between the mountain sub-village and the venues. There will also be a sub-media centre in the mountain cluster.

Breckenridge Craft Spirits Fest logo - web small

4th Annual Still on the Hill Festival October 4 – 6, 2013

Fall is the season for cooler temperatures, changing leaves and the Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival. The first of its kind in the state, the festival features small-batch distillers, artisan spirit seminars, fine local cuisine and of course, plenty of sampling.

“Those familiar with microbrewing will be pleased to discover that the same care and quality is happening within the craft spirits industry, both in Colorado and across the nation,” said BRA president Ken Nelson. “Colorado has a particularly liberal distilling environment and that’s key to the recent boom. Still on the Hill celebrates the diversity resulting from that boom and we’re excited to welcome a variety of talented craft distillers to Breckenridge.”

Raise your glass, artisan spirits lovers. The Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival lures Colorado’s finest distillers to town for an unrivaled tasting showcase of handcrafted spirits. Produced by the Breckenridge Restaurant Association, the festival was born of Colorado’s rapidly growing artisan spirits industry.  The festival’s grand tasting features samples and specialty cocktails from craft distillers, while local restaurants pay homage to the town’s founding year with $18.59 menu specials.
