Not what we were hoping for, expected excellence and got average

We have stayed at one of the other Cedar locations and it was really nice. We called to rent this unit and my husband asked if it was slope-side so that we had a view of the slope and he was assured that it was. When we arrived we discovered that it was an interior unit and Great Wester Lodging said there was nothing they could do. Shame on you GWL! Besides not being in the location we asked for, this unit had a lot of repairs that have been neglected. The stair railings were not very secure and many of the spindles were falling down (the 'handyman' was trying to use wood glue to glue one if the spindles on when we arrived), but it didn't seem to work). The drawers in many of the dressers just fell out when you opened them to put stuff away, as well. The worst was the refrigerator door shelves. They were both broken so we couldn't effectively store anything on the doors without it falling out all over the floor upon opening the door. The door going into the garage was really difficult to get open and the downstairs sliding door wouldn't lock. The last repair that was frustrating was the iron door on the fireplace, we couldn't get the right side to open all the way. The dryer vent had a hole in it so the lint was just coming out into the kitchen and it caused the area to be really hot when you used the dryer. The beds were not very comfortable either. Some of the things we enjoyed about the location were that it had a gas fireplace and a code pad to get in the garage so we didn't have to walk around to the front door to enter and exit the unit. Although it would've been nice to get a garage door opener, too since we had a car and would have liked to have the ability to open/close the garage without getting out of the car every time. The hot tub was really great and the place was nicely cleaned. For the price we were expecting something incredible and just got something average to below average.

quality accommodation very convenient for skiing

this house was excellent for our extended family of six each of whom had differing skiing requirements all of which were enhanced by the proximity to the slopes. if I had to be critical of any aspect I would mention that the interior walls could benefit from a repaint and it would be useful to have a ski rack in the garage to hang skiis for drying each day. otherwise accommodation was excellent and very comfortable.

    Great Stay, terrific location

    1227/1261227
    07/03/2013

We just returned from a 5 night stay. We have stayed with GWL before but this was our first stay at this unit. Check in was very easy and friendly. The unit was very clean and well stocked in a great location. The unit is showing its age a bit. The windows and doors were difficult to open, and did not have screens which made it difficult to keep the unit cool as their is no a/C and it does get warm in the summer. The shower door in the master bathroom does not close fully so you have to be careful about water on the floor. We had a problem with the hot tub as the bromine level seemed way too high. As soon as we opened the lid we all (2 young children) started coughing and had a hard time breathing from the chemicals. After leaving the top off and removing the bromine float it improved enough that I could use the tub by the end of my stay, but my family was unable to. Overall I would still recommend the unit, GWL, and Breck in general for a family visit! Scott

    Dear Scott -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have shared your review with the homeowner to note that it is showing its age and most importantly about the windows and doors being hard to open and not having screens. Thank you for noting!

It looks like the front desk called the Hot Tub repair company on your departure day and they got the bromine levels all fixed up right away. It was great that you let us know for the next guest, but we want you to enjoy everything as well, especially the private hot tub without any chemical concerns. Just keep us posted of anything we can help out with during your next stay!

Your review of your stay in Cedars #18 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

Great location but beds are tough on your back and just one tv h

Condo is close to the slopes of Peak 9 and the hot tub is nice. The bed in the master as well as the second bedroom are "broken down". We had to call the office and ask for a bed topper just go make it. They are tough on the back especially after a long day on the slopes. Also, the condo has cable tv but there is only one tv to watch it on. With two families it would be nice to watch cable at least in the master bedroom as well. Skiing was great!

Dear Jay & Susan from Okc -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have forwarded this to the owner to note the state of the beds in the bedrooms and will see if maintenance can pull the cable into the bedrooms.

    A Good Value...

    08/15/2012

We enjoyed our stay very much. We've been to Breckenridge many times and even stayed at several more upscale (expensive) properties; but this was certainly a good value and we really needed the third bedroom. Access to the community pool was also very nice and the walk to town (5 minutes) was not an issue. Kitchen was very functional, but a new microwave is needed. Hot tub was great on our first day, but then when 'cold'; not sure why... Would go back for sure.

    Dear ColoradoMountainGetAWay -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have forwarded this on to the Homeowner to note the need for a new microwave oven, as well as the maintenance department to check on the hot tub, as it should not have gone cold at all for your stay.

Great location! Walk to everything you need!

Close enough to slopes that it is easy to visit for lunch, breaks, or to pickup forgotten items. Food is easy, whether walking to a restaurant, ordering in, or shopping and cooking for yourself. Accomodations are well kept and spacious. Beds are comfortable and there are several bathrooms. Only downside was the number of levels, so lot's of up and down stairs.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

We loved the convenience of the hot tub. The unit we stayed in really needs a little more sleeping capacity, but overall it was pleasant. The Tv's are very out of date and I haven't seen a microwave like that one in a long time. We appreciate the quick response to our calls for help with the circuit breaker, lights not working, etc. The location is ideal.

    Great location

This is a nice condo in a great location. Walking distance to shopping and dinning on main street. It is one row of buildings in from edge of ski-run so very convenient for skiers.

    Great location for skiing

We had a 4 night stay at the Cedars 18. The check in was smooth and helpful with the maps to get to our condo. Although the condo was a little older than some that we've stayed at before, it was all very well maintained and would stay again there in a heartbeat! Having the hot tub in the 3-season type porch was HUGE!!! Didn't have to walk outside to get to it was really nice. probably only downfall was the tv. We were there over Super Bowl sunday and the picture wasn't real clear. (or maybe we're just spoiled at home) ha! other than that, super nice place. will go through GWL again if we go back to Breckenridge. Thanks!
