Breckenridge Lodge near Snowflake Lift - Great Stay

    9244/959244
    03/14/2013

Very nice rooms and facilities, and fantastic location next to Snowflake ski lift. The building has heated indoor parking garage but is also near the free shuttle bus stop with buses running ever 20 minutes. Or if you prefer a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town, with the uphill return walk not too bad. Our unit was clean, well supplied & well maintained. The building has decent exercise room and indoor/outdoor hot tubs. The bathroom layout was a little different with the toilet & one sink on one side of the bedroom, and the shower & larger vanity on the other, but it worked well for sharing. The small galley kitchen had everything you'll need but is also the hallway between the living room and the bedroom, so it did get a little tight at times with myself and two teens. Bring your own condiments, which I kind of prefer. There were a few of negatives to note. If you arrive after hours you'll have to turn around and drive back into town to their office on Main St. to get your keys from a combo lockbox, and then go back again sometime the next day to sign in. A bit of hassle but not totally unreasonable I guess. The fold out couch is the typical uncomfortable kind where you're better off just using the mattress on the floor. We also had an incident at the hot tub. The stairs going up to the hot tub made of decking material gave way under my 205lbs as I was getting out & I took a nasty spill down the stairs. The deck screws had apparently rusted through, but I did notice they were working on it the next morning (no I didn't sue). That all said we go to Breckenridge every year and prefer condos, and all thought this to be the best place we found for the money so far.

    Dear Butch and Emily -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I will follow up with the booking company as you should have received check-in information to come directly to the office on Main Street for keys, any time of day. I apologize about that inconvenience, as we definitely do not want guests to start out their stay with any mis-information.

Thank you for noting both the sofa bed and the stairs to the hot tub! I will share this with the owner about the uncomfortable sleeper sofa bed and with our Operations Department to ensure that the stairs to the hot tub are completely fixed.

Your review of your stay in Riverbend #103 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

The place was nicely appointed and really close to a lift. The hot tubs and sauna helped after a long day of skiing. The sofa bed needed to have the box spring replaced long ago, however, and the large burner on the stove didn't work. The support folks were very responsive.

    Dear Ravens Fan -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I will let the owner know about the need for a new box spring and good news, maintenance did up fixing the burner, but they did have to work on it to get all in working condition.

    Art Show Weekend

    09/13/2012

We love to visit Breckenridge during the fall art Show, and once again, were not disappointed! The staff at the front office were very helpful and accomodating to our needs. We returned to the Riverbend Lodge because of our positive experience 1 month ago in a different unit. We will return again! We love having a kitchen available for breakfast and lunch. Our only suggestion for this unit would be to have a regular sized coffee maker.

    Dear Linda -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have forwarded this on to the homeowner to note the need for the normal sized coffee maker in the room and we will get that taken care of for all future guests.

    Great location, No a/C

I stayed here in august when I came to Breckto hike my first 14er. The location was great, easy to access with convenient inside parking. There is a nice trail to hike back by Snowflake lift. The studio itself was clean, comfortable and well appointed. I cooked all of my meals and though the kitchen was small it had everything I needed. I was by myself and believe the unit would be hard pressed to house 4 for any length of time. I loved the separation of the jacuzzi tub from the commode room! And the jets in the tub were welcome after my hike! The window crank was broken and there was a note that reported that the part had been ordered and they fixed it promptly. However, no matter how wide I opened the window it just wasn't cool enough. Because of the apartment set up ther is no way to get a cross breeze. After two days I finally found an oscillating fan which helped. I'm sure in the winter this problem doesn't exist, but it made sleeping more challenging. The summer price was fabulous! All in all I'd stay again if by myself or with my husband!

    Loved it!

The Riverbend location was excellent! Right off of Snowflake and perfect size for my stay. The Green bus drops off just a block away if you don't want to ski back to the condo. I really enjoyed this condo, very comfortable. Also, the bathroom is split up. The shower and sink are in one area with a separate door. On the other side of the condo there is a sink and toilet, so two people can be getting ready at a time. I loved it and will rent this again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Riverbend, turned out to be a good location with the lifts right outside. Kitchen was a little smaller than we hoped, but turned out to be sufficient. Comfortable beds, nicely decorated.

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommadations were clean, comfortable and very convienent to the activities of the town of Breckenridge as well as the easy ski in ski out location. The only concern we had was with the "cheesy" small TV above the fireplace. To look up and watch was very uncomfortable and the screen picture was dark and shadowed. We were not on a ski trip to watch TV but, after a day of sking relaxing in front of the fireplace and watching a movie is appreciated. We feel an upgrade on the TV might be needed for future guest enjoyment.

We had a great Time in a Great Location !!!

My husband and I travel to Breckenridge quite often and all of the condos that we have rented have been wonderful, that is up until we rented this one. The condo was extremely uncomfortable because we could not get the condo cool enough. We had three fans blowing almost the whole time we were there and did not get a good night's sleep until we left Breckenridge. While the day temperatures were in the 70's and nights 50's, the condo never cooled down (of course there was no a/c!). The condo wasn't all that bad but there was no way a breeze could blow through to cool it down. This was definitely a "winter time only" condo rental. I would not recommend it for a summer vacation condo.

    Manager's Response - 10/19/2010

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Siegler:

Thank you for your review of Riverbend #103! We always like to hear from our guests and have forwarded your review to those who will look into the cooling situation at Riverbend.

    Great Long Weekend Away

My wife and I stayed in Riverbend (RM #103). Great staff, great price, and great location. The room studio) was wonderful and it was literally right next to 4 O' Clock Run. And after skiing hours it was just a short walk to all the shops/restaurants. Couldn't have asked for a better place. We'll be staying there again next year.

    Good, but not great.

We have stayed at Riverbend four times in the last four or five years, twice in 2 bedroom 105, once in 109 and once in 103. I chose 103 because the ski locker is closer to the lift. (Sounds silly, but I have a hard time carrying the skis!) Unit 103 seemed less comfortable than 109. The bed was very uncomfortable and the kitchen was difficult to deal with. I don't remember 109 in particular, but I don't remember being uncomfortable there. The television screen in 103 is too small for the placement. The refrigerator froze everything or didn't cool when turned down. If forced to make a choice, I would opt for a different studio. My preference is the two bedroom. I don't believe you have a one bedroom, other than the studio. I'll check on the difference in price, even if there are only two of us. I love Riverbend for the convenience and the units are basically very nice. Marjorie Hazouri Gainesville, FL

Beautiful, spacious condo with almost instant access to skiing (the chair lift was right outside our window!). I hope to stay here again.
