wonderful location. only negative is one bedroom and family room face a fairly busy street. the other bedroom is on very pleasant creek. the unit is super upgraded. I don't think anything was missed. location is super if you want to walk to everything in town and gondola. Would be first on our list for future rental.

Clean, updated and all amenities, but some disappointments.

We have stayed at Sawmill Creek several times so we are very familiar with the range of finishes/quality within the property. This unit has been nicely updated in the kitchen and baths, decent quality furniture and was very clean with plenty of towels in the bathrooms and all necessary cookware. The view from the balcony includes looking over Breckenridge town and mountains. We were very disappointed in the lighting. Due to the beautiful black countertops in the kitchen, the current lighting is just not adequate, you feel like you are constantly straining to see in the kitchen. The lighting in the hall bath is so low that it is almost impossible to see to put on your makeup. There are no overhead lights in the bedrooms and the lamps are not the best quality so again the lighting is really low. Tv mounted above the fireplace needs to be moved, you will have a crick in your neck by the end of the evening. If these items were changed, you really couldn't ask for anymore in a rental unit. Sawmill Creek is a great location with the ski-in run that leads right to the complex, easy walking access to downtown Breckenridge, shuttle stops right at the street, underground parking and indoor public hottubs.

    Manager's Response - 04/30/2012

    Dear We love wine –

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have forwarded the information on to the owner of Sawmill Creek #302 about the need for better lighting in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms, as well as the details about the television needing to be moved. I am also going to send this over to our maintenance department to make sure we are using the brightest light bulbs possible in the unit.

Thank you again for the information on Sawmill Creek #302 and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

We've stayed in the Sawmill Complex before but in a smaller unit. This unit worked great for us to share with our daughter/husband/one year old granddaughter. Great privacy, spacious, good view, convenient, grilles to use, underground parking with plenty of room to store our luggage carrier until we left.

    very nice and clean

Great location!! #302 was a very comfortable and wonderfully updated unit. The beds were a bit too soft for our taste and the small hot water tank made teenagers plus adults difficult to all have hot shower unless in time elapsed shifts. Other than that...We would definitley stay there again!

We loved the condominium especially the location.

The condouminium looked good in the pictures but actually was better in real life. It was perfect for the Holidays. We were happy with absolutely everything in the condo. It has been nicely updated. The space was perfect for us and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely book this condo again.

We have stayed at Sawmill Creek many times in different units over the past decade and have never been disappointed. You can't beat the location, a couple of blocks from the downtown restaurants and the Riverwalk Center, venue for the excellent Breckenridge Music Festival and National Repertory Orchestra concerts. The mountain views are spectacular. The quality of this unit is on par with Hilton and Marriott properties I frequent around the country, yet at a fraction of the price. The management firm, Great Western, is easy to work with and always ensures the rental units are ready.

    "Elephants above us"

The town of Breckenridge exceeded our expectations, but SAWMILL Creek 302 didn't. While the main building is in OK shape, and #302 had updated kitchen/bathrooms, the unit left a lot to be desired. In today's rental market people expect the same amenities in a rental home that they have in their personal residence. As the owner of a beach home that we rent, I speak from experience that this pays dividends. #302 had uncomfortable beds, old tv's in the bedroom, uncomfortable furniture in the living room, press board furniture in the bedrooms, missing kitchen utensils, and one dvd player in the master bedroom. In addition to this, Sawmill creek is an older building that was poorly designed and poorly built. The amount of noise transferred from those in the unit above you we couldn't overcome. The building has wooden flooring and floor joists, and is built like an apartment complex. Beware of anyone staying above you, it sounded as if there were "elephants above us". With a pregnant wife and 2 kids that were kept awake by the poor building design, I wouldn't stay there again. Stay in a building that has concrete slab construction, or a townhome.

    Great location, spacious condo.

We were very pleased with this condo. Very spacious. Modernized kitchen, clean and comfortable. The location in town is hard to beat.

Very nice place with lots of new updates. We saw a small TV in the pictures, but when we got there it was a brand new TV hanging on the wall, very cool! The unit looks great in the pictures, but looks even better when you get there. You can walk to town and ski in, but have to shuttle to the lifts. The bus stops right in front of the building, so its an easy short ride to the lifts. Very few negatives, but nothing is perfect. They need a hot tub outside, every other property I've stayed at had one and its a huge plus. Also it would be nice if you can check in earlier because it kinda ruins your whole day waiting to check in if you get an early flight in.

    The Great Flood

After the first night stay back in July , we awoke to a dripping sound caused by an overflowing toliet in the room above. The owners of the room above never reported the problem, we did only because the volume of water and smell was significant in our rental. A toliet waterfall at 6 a.m. is not the type of wake up call anyone needs much less on vacation. We called the front desk to report the problem which turned serious when water began flowing into both bathrooms in our rental and into the hallway. Main complaint: The manager on duty Friday morning July 4 indicated there were no other rooms to transfer us ...so she "verbally" promised a 20% discount on our stay. But when we checked out on Sunday July 6 there was no discount to be honored. The clerk person working the front desk during the check out on July 6 Sunday morning abruptly informed us she was not told about the discount. End of discussion. So...you tell me how would you feel staying at Great Western Lodging ? Just as you expect guests to honor the rights of the property owner...we would expect the same at a minimum from your company.

Great ski-in spot, but it does take a bit of time to get out. Easy walk to restaurants, bars, ski rental places, etc. Plenty of room - plenty of privacy. Not a high-end luxury spot, but not rugged either. Great for groups of friends and family.
