Vacation Rental Summary
Upper level unit with a large loft. Nice view of the mountains and only a couple of blocks from main street.
Great time in Breckenridge as usual...Enjoyed our stay at Sawmill Creek, condo 406 was nice.
on a positive note, the children really enjoyed the loft area in this condo. however, the condo is badly in need of remodeling. i held my nose when entering kitchen, esp. if opening the refrigerator. kitchen appliances really need to be replaced. we had a very difficult time using the outdated oven. the kitchen & bathrooms both appeared to be clean but both had a sour/moldy odor that was very unpleasant. the bedroom & loft closet doors were a hazard as our one year old would accidentally lean on it & the base of the closet door would swing into the closet. i was very nervous that our baby would be hurt. if this condo had been my first experience with sawmill creek or great western lodging we would definitely find another place to stay next time. we have stayed at sawmill creek before at nice remodeled condos & we will return to sawmill creek but not at this particular condo. replacing closet doors, replacing kitchen applicances, and remodeling the bathrooms would be a necessary upgrade to help this condo match the surrounding condos at sawmill creek.

Sawmill was a great choice. It was centrally located, had a great price and an awesome view. Did not have much hot water for a condo for 7 but I was told this boiler system unfortunately was not built for this type of condo. Even though it was cold outside and showers were cold,the value and comfort made up for it.
The overall facilites were great. Most of the units we saw had been updated and were very nice, however we statyed in unit 406 that had not been updated. This unit had leaking water pipes under the sink, a broken window that allowed it to snow on my 2 year old daughter over night, and the saftey covers for the hot water heater were not in place exposing bare wire that could have harmed someone.
The location was perfect, just off 4 o'clock run for skiing home. Plus it is within walking distance of all the local shops. The only issue we had was the electric heat in the main living area and the upstairs loft did not work so when it was down in the single digits it was cold.
The place was dated and run down. First, the baseboard heating didn't work at all in the main living area. You had to use the fireplace to keep the place warm. Their was a large crack in the wall in the main living area. The carpet is in need of replacement. A chair had an arm broken off of it. The televisions were old, small and got poor reception. The shower in the master bath stunk badly. In general, while it was livable, it certainly wasn't an enjoyable place to be.
Great location and plenty of room - kids loved the loft. However needs some repairs. Oven knobs were reversed and hot water heater did not provide enough hot water for even one full shower.
For spring break my family drove to Denver to stay with family and hit the slopes in Breck for a few days. We hopped on the shuttle right outside and we took advantage of the ski-in, right to the door! The condo had everything that we needed and the location was excellent!
Great Family Condo that you could Ski to at the end of the day. Easy access to the slopes via shuttle. Very close walk to town center. Great Location!
