Generally speaking, the trails in and around Breckenridge are not overly technical. That’s not to say that beginners will be able to easily ride all trails. But compared to other areas, Breckenridge trails are relatively smooth, but there are some rocky trails that delight the technical rider. A good mountain bike for our area is either a full-suspension 26″ wheeled type, or a hardtail or full-suspension 29er. All bike rental shops in the area will offer suitable bikes to enjoy our trails. Popular high-end mountain bike rentals include Yeti and Santa Cruz bikes from Avalanche Sports. For hybrid or comfort bikes for a leisurely stroll on the paved rec path between Breckenridge and Frisco, Elevation Ski & Bike offers some great choices. For a performance road bike rental, we recommend Carver’s or Avalanche Sports.
