Would stay again

The property was nice and overall, I would definitely rent it again. The location was a reasonable walk to a lift and Main St, it was spacious, and it had a great area to store gear.

There were minor issues that are always found. The light switches frequently didn't control any lights, there is a very large step over required to get into a shower, and most of the humidifiers didn't work. None of these things would prevent me from renting again.

Would rent again

Especially during Covid, this condo is in the perfect location to ski a full morning, come back to the condo for a break, and then hand out for round two! Had to do a little work while we were in Breck for the week, so the den was a big plus! Close to town, comfy beds,And super clean… Thanks for a great time!

Excellent location to walk to slopes and town, with nice picture windows throughout the condo. It was easy to stay socially distanced given that you never need to get on public transportation. The unit is a bit dated, but is a good deal for the price. Garage parking is available, and even with the low ceiling clearance we were able to get out truck into the garage. Beds were comfortable, and full size washer/dryer in unit was very helpful.

Excellent

Overall, how would you rate your vacation?

Comments About Your Overall Experience

This is a great location, and it is a comfortable space. Kitchen is a nice size and has what you need for basics. The water heater is way too small for a family to get up and all shower, do dishes, etc. The bed sheets were all too small and thus they come off every night and have to be remade. The mattresses were good which was a plus. The bath mats/rugs were filthy. The filtered fridge water was broken so we could not fill our water bottles as preferable, although the tap water at this unit is just fine.

What is the likelihood that you will recommend us to a friend?

Very likely

The main thing we were looking for in a condo was its closeness or proximity to a ski lift - this unit clearly delivered being about 150 to 200 yards from the Quicksilver lift. The unit was also spacious with more than enough room for my wife and two kids. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a good breakfast each morning and if we wanted a dinner each night, but we were also very near Main street, so we ended up eating out each night. There is a heated garage under the complex we parked our rental car in - this was nice as well. Improvements to this condo might include installing additional drapes or blinds at each window that will allow light in but to where people can't see you dressing, etc. Being on the first floor of the complex this was a concern. The trail leading to the lift is steep at spots with ski boots on - this is a problem when there is ice involved. What can be done to improve this? Overall we were very pleased with our selection of this condo and would consider it again.

Manager Response:

Thank you for your review! We will look into what can be done to change the trail leading to the lift - thanks for noting!

Thanks,

Great Western Lodging Staff

Great location but cramped. Furniture is uncomfortable and old (1980's?). Tv is old as well, no HD and basic cable. We paid top dollar for a low end condo. The agent (not GW) who rented the unit was disorganized, not a professional. Pool and hot tubs at Columbine were great. Powderhorn has much nicer units than this one.

Manager Response:

Dear Bob:

Thank you for your review of Powderhorn #A105! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest's are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I will be sharing this review with the owner, as well as our Homeowner Relations Manager, to make sure they know about the need for updates to both the furniture and the televisions - thank you for noting!

Please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

Sincerely,

Our experience was good. There was tons of space for our family of 4, including our 13-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy. The space is very dated and we found the bed comforters and skirts soiled. The tv's are extremely dated especially the master bedroom. The remotes really do not work well. What we like is the easy accessibility to the ski lift and proximity to the town. The kitchen was well equipped but everything needs refreshing especially the silver wear and dishes. Overall, we enjoyed our time but wish that the entire place could be freshened up. We would recommend this unit if the unit was simply updated. We found the unit quiet. However the couple below us had a very large dog and I almost stepped in its poop. The GWL staff is always nice to work with.

I have shared this review with the owner concerning the need to update their unit, from the kitchen items, to the televisions, and the bedding - thank you for noting! Good news though, we will be getting the comforters and bedding skirts in the unit dry cleaned here soon.

Please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

The GWL Staff were all very helpful. They even helped our friends make connections with a shuttle when we had to leave early.
We found the hot tub did not work when we arrived and it was not fixed in the two weeks we were there. The living room TV is old and very dark almost and not HD as you would expect for the rental fee, we informed GWL. The fry pans are metal and should be upgraded to non stick.

Manager Response:

Dear Douglas:

Thank you for your review of Powderhorn #A105! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest's are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I have followed up on the jetted tub situation and good news, the jets all work, but it is a jetted tub, not a hot tub. The Owner has been informed as well about the need to upgrade all their televisions to flat screen and HD. Housekeeping has checked out the frying pans too - thank you for noting!

Please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

GWL reps were all polite and helpful - very easy to work with. The condo A105 Powderhorn was a good choice for our ski trip to Breck. We are a party of four, a couple and two male friends so the room layout was perfect - the office we used as a bedroom and it was wonderful that everyone had their own bathroom. The extra space that you get with this condo is wonderful. Good location - close to ski lift and town. Beds and furniture are clean and comfortable. The use of the pool and hot tubs across the street is great.
Few reasons why I didn't rate it a 5. The kitchen is well stocked but some of the pots, pans etc didn't seem clean - I washed them before using. The potholders where dirty - I had to run them through the washer. I like to cook and found the kitchen well stocked but I would add two things : a pair of kitchen scissors and some more cutting boards (maybe a set of those cheap thin ones that could be changed seasonally).
The other reason it didn't get a 5 is because of the noise. While it's a great location the master bedroom is next to the above ground parking area - because we couldn't get the heating set to a comfortable temperature (too warm or none at all) we had the windows open which meant that we were occasionally woken by banging car doors and people coming and going via this parking area.
The above things would not put me off staying at this condo again - we don't live in a "perfect" world..........
We lost a key and broke a casserole dish - I phoned GWL to inform them & was just thanked for informing them. I later received an email to say my cc had been charged$10 - totally acceptable but it would have been better if the person I spoke to about the key and casserole had explained that my cc would be charged. Again, no big deal but a point you might want to take into consideration?

Manager Response:

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for the wonderful review of Powderhorn A105, we greatly appreciate your feedback! I will make sure to pass along this information with our housekeeping staff. Additionally I will follow up with our front desk as it is our check-in procedure to inform guest of all possible charges when initialing check-in forms, thanks for noting!

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you back again soon!
