Wow, hard to imagine but the tide is turning. After barely seeing over 100″ of snow fall at the ski resort as of January 1, and a pretty meager January, I am very excited to see February so far has been a pretty good month for snow. After 6″ fell over the first couple days of February, we saw 15″ of new snow between February 7th and the 12th. Our last snowy pattern started on Valentine’s Day, and since then up until this morning, we’ve seen 20″ of snow. This is fantastic news for the crowds who enjoyed our town over this past holiday weekend. And over the next 4 weeks, we will be hosting many travelers who are up here enjoying their Spring Break in Breck.
The mountain is improving with every storm too! There are now a few different ways to enter the Horseshoe Bowl from the top of the t-bar. Less rocks and more snow! Imperial Bowl seems to get more coverage with every storm and wind event. Peak 7 is also looking very good. With another snowy pattern forecasted for this Wednesday and the upcoming weekend, the last week of February is shaping up to be one of the best weeks of skiing so far.
