The golden glow of fall is beginning to blanket our town. Many enjoy the vast miles of wide-open trails that make viewing more convenient. Hiking Blue River Tail or Boreas Pass Road offers stunning front row views of Autumn colors.

Explore the vast trails available for hiking, biking, jogging, and more. The town's free public transportation makes reaching some more spectacular trails easy and convenient. As mentioned above, the Blue River Trail offers a beautiful backdrop to Autumn. The long but gentle trail runs along the Illinois Creek for 2.5 miles, round trip. Starting at Peak 9, the Burro Trail follows a peaceful and gentle creek. This intermediate course is about one to five miles round trip.

Take a Fly Fishing tour or hit the waters yourself, as fly fishing is at its peak during Autumn. The Blue River, Eagle River, Colorado River, Arkansas River, and South Platte River are all located within an hour's drive of Breckenridge. So pack your gear, find the perfect guide and get ready to catch some large rainbow and brown trouts as you explore our small streams, reservoirs, and alpine lakes. Be sure to purchase your fishing license from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife or a local guide service

Buffalo Flats was an old gold mining tent city where miners lived as they sought their treasure. Today, it's proudly Breckenridge Golf Club. The course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course right here in town. Due to its popularity, it was expanded in 2021 when Elk Nine opened. This beautiful course offers 27 holes to play, overlooking 10 miles of the mountain range. It's common to spot wildlife during your round, including beaver, deer, elk, moose, and sometimes even a bear.
