LIGHTING OF BRECKENRIDGE & RACE OF THE SANTAS
The Christmas season starts with a full day of fun on the first Saturday of December! Sweet pups and their owners will lead off the holiday procession in the afternoon, followed by the kid’s Moose March and the official Race of the Santas a bit later. Grab your Santa costume and enjoy Main Street as Breckenridge lights up for the winter season. The sparkling holiday lights all around Breckenridge are a magical experience and a must-see! You’ll want to register in advance for the parade, fun run, and race event.
BRECKENRIDGE ULLR FEST
Ullr is the Norse God of snow, and every year locals and visitors gather for a days-long festival to celebrate all things winter. The 59th annual Ullr Fest will take place on December 8th -10th, beginning with the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen and the world’s Longest ShotSki® record-breaking attempt. The Ullr Parade will be on the afternoon of Thursday, December 8th, followed by the Ullr Bonfire. The events continue Friday (Comedy Night at Riverwalk Center) and Saturday (Ullr Ice Skating Party and Ice Skating Show at the Stephen C West Ice Arena).
INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION
This world-renowned competition will bring visitors from all over to Breckenridge for a week, from January 23rd to February 1st. You will be amazed at the work of these artists, carving with only hand tools (no power tools allowed!). Seeing these fantastic sculptures is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Carving will take place through the 27th, and the event will transition to spectator viewing through 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
