First, Four Things to Know for the 2026/2027 Season
Projected opening day is November 7, 2026. Breckenridge opens when conditions allow rather than on a fixed date, with Peak 8 opening first on limited terrain.
The season runs long. Breck typically stays open into mid or late May, one of the longest in North America, so spring is a genuinely good time to visit at lower rates.

The good news: the Breckenridge Free Ride town shuttle and the county-wide Summit Stage bus are both free, as is the BreckConnect Gondola linking Main Street to Peaks 7 and 8. Between them, a car is genuinely optional for much of a Breckenridge stay.
