Altitude is not a myth. Breckenridge sits at 9,600 feet, and alcohol genuinely hits harder up here, especially on your first day. Drink water alongside, eat something, and pace yourself. A rough first night ruins a whole ski week.
You do not need to drive. The Breckenridge Free Ride town shuttle, the county-wide Summit Stage bus and the BreckConnect Gondola are all free.
